The Timbavati Traverse was established in 2021 in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve with one goal – to make a difference to our endangered wildlife and the communities surrounding the reserve.
The 2024 Timbavati Traverse hosted a 45km ultra-marathon run, a 21km half-marathon walk as well as a brand new 21km half-marathon run within the beautiful 53 000 hectare reserve. The pristine wilderness is home to the ‘Big Five’ and boasts great sightings of a wide variety of wildlife.
The 2025 Timbavati Traverse will take place on 9 August 2025. For more information on the 2025 event, take a look here.
Runners and walkers will be participating to help protect Timbavati’s wildlife and their guardians and to raise funds to support the Timbavati Foundation which does incredible work for the neighbouring rural communities.
